Wertel’s Tap
Wertel’s Tap opened for business in 1968, and the bar and grill has stayed true to its humble beginnings as a small country tavern despite its popularity and growth. The Wertel family believes in quality—both in the ingredients they use in the kitchen, and in the atmosphere they provide to their customers. They’ve got a full menu, including burgers, wings, sandwiches, soups and salads. Wertel’s is well known for their fish fry which is available three times a week—Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For just $14.95, you can get a perch plate complete with rye bread, coleslaw and choice of potato. If perch isn’t your thing, you can choose from bluegill, walleye, cod, smelt, shrimp or scallops. Other dinner options include tenderloin, prime rib and chicken. If you’re looking for a small-town feel without leaving the city, Wertel’s just might be for you.
